Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why do I need SEO?
If you want people to visit your web site and to buy your product, or learn about your services, or get information about the cause you support, or achieve whatever other purpose you want your site to achieve, you need Search Engine Optimization. SEO is a crucial factor in the success of your web site. You might have the world's best site with a pretty design and great offerings, but it won't be of much use if no one can find it. That is where SEO comes in. SEO allows you gain more visibility on the internet and drive more traffic to your website through higher rankings on search engines; and of course more traffic means better chances of you achieving your objectives, whatever they may be.
2. Can you guarantee my rankings?
I do not guarantee #1 rankings because I don't own the search engines. Search engines change their algorithms from time to time and what worked last month may not work today. However, I do guarantee a significant increase in your web site traffic, better rankings for keywords, and better conversions and increased revenue from your site.
3. But then why do some SEO professionals give guarantees?
That's because some SEO professionals either optimize your website for useless keywords that no one searches for or they use black-hat (unethical) SEO techniques that can even get your site penalized, de-indexed or even banned from search engines. Beware of the so called "SEO professionals" who "guarantee" instant results. SEO normally takes time and a lot of patience. Think of it as building a relationship which can only be achieved slowly and gradually by taking calculated steps.
4. What is the difference between on-page SEO and off-page SEO?
On-page SEO is involves setting up your web pages and their components such as titles, meta tags, code and URLs so they are in accordance with the guidelines given by various search engines. A search-engine friendly website is easier for SE bots to crawl and that can have a great impact on its rankings.

Off-page SEO is essentially getting other web sites to "endorse" or vote for your web site by placing a link to your web pages on their site. It also involves some other tasks such as submitting sitemaps.
